Scrap Your Favorite Season...

Fall thoughts are in the air!  My daughter's favorite holiday is fall so she has already put out the decorations for the fall season.  Maybe it will feel cooler with fall decorations out.  As for all the challenges I'm seeing, I think everyone is thinking fall.
I will be entering this page of my grandson Isaiah into the Scrapping Everyday Miracles "Scrap your Favorite Season of the Year Challenge".  Now this is not just a fall challenge but you do have to have at least 3 or more leaves on your project.

I love the little cross stitched eyes I added to my scarecrow.  I also added a little raffia to stick out of the hands.

Giddyup

Giddyap, here's my grandson enjoying a ride on the rocking horse that his Great Grandpa made for my kids.  It's so cool when you see your grandchildren enjoying the same toys that their parents enjoyed.
I will be entering my layout into sketch challenge #36 at Artful Delight

As you can see I turned my sketch to the left.

I will also be entering my layout in the Die Cut Gate Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches.

Let's Make a Loomed Layout!

I was so excited to see the Super Scraps Saturday challenge #115 at Hiding in My Craft Room!  The challenge is to use scraps.  (Don't tell me I'm the only one known for saving every little scrap!)  I have saved all those little strips of paper that I trim off the edges of my layouts when I mat them.  Sometimes I use them for journal strips and other than that, I just hoard them.  Well I found another way to use them.

So you've probably seen or made a loomed pot holder, right?  Well I think that is what my page looks like and I LOVE it!  It's so fun and a great way not to waste all those little papers.

My box of paper strips.

I found strips of paper the same length and started to weave them together.

Here are my old loomed pot holders my kids made me.  I still love and use them!

I can't believe how fast he's grown...or that he doesn't have chocolate all over his face!

As you can see I stitched around the edges of my weaved paper to hold it all together.

Scenic Route...

Hello, today I would like to share a page I did for Bird is the Word Scrapbook Challenge Blog. I just fell in love with the sketch by Heather and knew I had just the picture to scrap. My husband and I just got back from Gatlinburg Tennessee. Tennessee is one of my favorite places to go, I just love the mountains and all the waterfalls and streams!

I chose to challenge myself and reconstruct a pre-made layout. I purchased a book of  pre-made layouts and thought how easy it would be to get my scrapping done in a jiffy. Well I just can't bring myself to use them, so I decided to cut it up and make it my own! The first thing I did was cut out the frame and mounting. I then decided that I needed to trim it up a little more so I took off a bit from all sides. You can see from the picture above how the camera is popping off the mat.

If you look at the page above you can see I used just about the entire page except for the stars.

I cut out the journal space and used my punch and moved it to the top of the page.

Some embellishments!

Let's use Wire!

Don't you just love to look back at old photos?  It's so amazing looking back even just a year or less and see how much my little grandsons have changed! My grandsons both love their Papaw's big tractor and when he came home with one just like his, only their size, they were super excited!

I'm entering my lay out into two challenges. The first one is using the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches.

The second challenge was for The Paper Girls Challenge # 39 All wired up! You could use wire-staples-paper clip, you get the picture. I chose to use a few different wire elements. First I used staples to staple my banner. It's a quick way to attach a banner and who doesn't like quick! Second I used metal brad and third I chose to use a thin wire that I wrapped around my brads to pick up the circle in the sketch with two other wire circles that I sewed onto the page!

Are You Ready For Fall...

Well it's been a hot summer here in sunny South Florida! Fall has been on my mind, so when I came across the Fall Colors challenge #118 from My Sheri Crafts I knew I had the perfect picture to scrap!

This is my grandson Jordan and he was 5 months old here. Isn't this just the sweetest picture of him sitting among the little pumpkins.
