Saddle Up...

Hi Friends!  I finally had a little time to post.  I have completed some challenges this month but just need the time to post them and we are entering the holiday season.  How do you regular scrappers find time to manage both?  I have to say I'm envious of all the energy I see when I visit all of you.

My husband is a Farrier, "which means he trims and shoes horses".  This was our horse Sporty.  He was a really ornery horse.  He had such an attitude, he knew what time it was and would walk up to the house and stomp his hooves on the concrete to let us know it was feeding time.  He actually dented our garage door with his head!

Heart Wrangler!...

This is my little cowboy Isaiah. He's my first grandchild and he did Wrangle my Heart. I have a picture of my son and my husband around the same age with their red cowboy hat.  I hope to continue the tradition with each of my grandson's when they are around this age!
I will be entering my layout in the Freestyle Challenge #185 @ Hiding in My Craft Room

I actually saved the clip from a pair of my husbands overalls!

Let's Make a Loomed Layout!

I was so excited to see the Super Scraps Saturday challenge #115 at Hiding in My Craft Room!  The challenge is to use scraps.  (Don't tell me I'm the only one known for saving every little scrap!)  I have saved all those little strips of paper that I trim off the edges of my layouts when I mat them.  Sometimes I use them for journal strips and other than that, I just hoard them.  Well I found another way to use them.

So you've probably seen or made a loomed pot holder, right?  Well I think that is what my page looks like and I LOVE it!  It's so fun and a great way not to waste all those little papers.

My box of paper strips.

I found strips of paper the same length and started to weave them together.

Here are my old loomed pot holders my kids made me.  I still love and use them!

I can't believe how fast he's grown...or that he doesn't have chocolate all over his face!

As you can see I stitched around the edges of my weaved paper to hold it all together.
