Cassie...

Hi Friends!  I just fell in love with this sketch by Liz Chidester for the challenge @ My Creative Sketches.  The photo in my layout is of my daughter Cassie when she was nine or ten years old.  That's the thing with photos if you don't date them you might just forget what year it was... "at least that is true for me".

I'm loving this layout so much.  I think the butterflies are one of my favorites with the beads that I hand stitched on them that just made them look fantastic!

My Dad... A XOXO Scrap lift Reveal..

Hi Friends!  I'm so excited to have been asked to stay on permanently as DT for  XOXO.  Tess Pretty gave us a real challenge this month to scrap-lift.  I found this scraplift a real challenge, I don't usually journal right on my layout.  I also have never done the paint circles on my layout but I have to say even though it is not my usual style I love the results!  I hope you will hop over to XOXO and join in this months challenge.  I will be looking forward to dropping by and seeing your layout!
For my layout I found an old photo of my Dad.  I wanted to do a more masculine layout and chose to use one of my go to paper packs from My Minds Eye "Totally Boy".

Legacy Trail...

Hi Friends!  Seeing this picture from 2012 made me want to get my bike out and go for a ride. Maybe I will go tonight!  There is a fabulous trail about 20 minutes north of me that used to be a old railroad track.  You can ride for over 10 miles on this trail. It's pretty cool you can take the trail south and make your way to the beach.
I used a great sketch from Chic Tags Delightful Paper Tags.  It was a lot of fun working with it.

Hello Little One...

Hi Friends!  I wanted to finish just one more layout for the month!  I chose the cute sketch from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.  The layout features myself and DH visiting our newest grandson on the day he came home.  There is nothing sweeter than seeing your husband adore his grand kids!  Love it!

Here I used a template for my stitching and then I hand cut  my own butterflies and inked the edges and hand sewed them on. I wanted my layout to have a softness about it with a little punch of color.

For my title I printed out my title and cut it our and poked holes to create my own stitching template.  I'm very pleased with the result!
